Sisters!

My girls are growing up so fast! I bought these dresses for them so that I could get some pictures of them together, but they didn't cooperate very well. Kylie right now is very into dress up. She has some dresses that she got for Christmas and she wears them everday. She dances around the house singing disney songs. Lexi is our distroyer. She loves to throw things and open all the cubboard and get everything out. Then when she sees that you are coming for her she drops everything and runs. She thinks that the word "no" is very funny. Everytime she hears us say it she laughs and runs.

Well life is going good for us right now. We have just got over illness after illness. And doctors visit after doctors visit. Everyone seems to be healthy at the moment. The girls both have had hacking coughs for the last few weeks. I took Kylie to the urgent care a week ago because she could not stop coughing for pretty much 24 hours straight. They told me that she had pneumonia. I asking them if it is common for a child of her age to get pneumonia almost every time she gets a cough. They said that sometimes pneumonia can be confused with asthma. So they decided to try a breathing treatment to see if that would help. Sure enough it work! The doctor said that they do not diagnose a child with asthma until they have had at least three different episodes like this. So we are going to just wait and see if it comes back the next time she has a cold.
Lexi recently climbed out of her high chair and landed face first on the floor, chipping her front tooth. We took her to the dentist and they said they wouldn't even try to file the tooth down. I hope she doesn't accidentally bite her lip, that would really hurt!

Kylie is now a Salamander!

It is very important to us that all our children learn to swim at a young age. So we enrolled Kylie in swimming lessons. Well, she has officially graduated from her first class! Yes, now she is a salamander. No she cannot swim yet, but she is well on her way. Mostly they play and splash in the water and get use to putting their head under water for a short period of time. She loved it!

Happy B-Day Derek!

I just wanted to take a moment to share some photos of Derek as a now and then. Derek is the love of my life. He is so perfect for me in every way. He is a wonderful father and husband. From the first day that we met we have always been able to talk so well with each other. I still remember us going out on drives when we were friends and just talking for hours. He is always the first to say "I'm sorry" and works so hard to be the best that he can. Whenever we get together for family events he is always the one playing with all the kids and loves to make them laugh! And oh how he loves his girls! Happy Birthday Derek! I love you!

Tagged!

This is Kylie when she was 4 months old. Wow how time flies. Kylie was the easiest baby ever. And I take care of babies for a living so I should know what an easy baby is. She slept all the time. I remember when she was little that she never really cried and would sleep all night with Derek while I was at work. Then when I got home in the morning she would sleep all day with me. Many times I thought that something was really wrong with her because she was too quiet and sleepy.

I was tagged by Charity

Here are the instructions
1) Go to your picture folder, or wherever you store your photos on your computer
2) Go to the sixth folder and pick the sixth picture
3) Post it on your blog and tell the story that goes along with the picture
4) Tag four friends to do the same thing

So tag Andrea, Kerry, Rylie and Julie

Still traveling!

Well Monday I saw a specialist who is still not sure what is going on with me. All that my labs show is that I have mild inflammation somewhere in my body. Great tell me something I didn't know already considering I have barely been able to turn my neck for years now! I felt a little like I did when I went to the orthopedic surgery 4 years ago. The doctor looks at the labs and the x-rays and says, "So why are you here?" Then I show then my range of motion in my neck (which is equivalent to a person trying to turn with a neck brace on) and they always go, "Oh that is pretty significant for a girl you age." So now the doctor is running more labs and more x-rays to see what they can find. I know that this may be a long journey, but I hope in the end that they can figure out what is going on!

A new road to travel!

I have been having problem with my back starting when I was a teenage. At first I had very mild pains in my neck and slowly that have got worse and worse. I've been put off seeing a doctor because of medical insurance, pregnancy, and what ever other reason I could come up with. I use to have a lot of pain in my neck, but now it is more in my hips. So I finally decided since we had good health coverage and I have only been getting worse, that I would bite the bullet and finally start the road to figuring out what is going on with me. I went in last week and just saw a general physician (to get started) I had lots of labs and x-rays done and am going to see a specialist tomorrow. From the labs I found out that I have low thyroid. (I guess it runs in my family, but I didn't know that until after I had all my lab tests done.) I am hoping that that is all that is going on, but I am a little nervous to hear what they have to say. Just after Derek and I got married I was going to physical therapy and than saw a orthopedic surgeon and felt like there was nothing that could be done. So I went about my life discouraged that this was just a trial that I have to deal with in my life. I am seeing a rheumatologist tomorrow so they should be a little more helpful.

Christmas!

Here is Daddy with the girls reading his favorite book to them "Daddy's Girl".

This is the gorgeous hand made train from Grandma and Grandpa Millett.

Kylie loved all the snow, her favorite part was eating it!

Christmas was a little crazy this year. I had to work Christmas Eve so we had Christmas morning on Christmas Eve morning instead. It was lots of fun. The girls were so excited to play with all their new things. We don't buy new toys very often, pretty much only for Birthdays and Christmas so they were amazed by their new things.
Early Christmas morning both of the girls ended up throwing up. Derek was sure that it had been bad milk. We went about our day and both of them acted fine all day until we got to Grandma's house and then Lexi got sick all over Grandma. When we tried to leave grandma's we got our car stuck in the snow. Oregon does not believe in plowing the side roads and so though we were about 2 feet away from dry road we could not get through the snow bank to get onto the road. Luckily there were some nice men that shoveled us out and pushed us on our way. What a Day! Now we are so excited for 2009!
